Beike recently released the "2023 Beike Carbon Neutrality Goal and Action Roadmap Report", pledging to achieve carbon neutrality at the operational level no later than 2030. This is the first time that Beike has released carbon neutrality goals and action pathways, committing to achieve carbon neutrality at the operational level (Scope 1 and 2) by 2030, reducing the carbon emission intensity (Scope 3) of the headquarters and real estate brokerage business value chain by 60% compared with the base year of 2022, and reducing the carbon emission intensity of the home improvement and housing rental business value chain (Scope 3) by 30% compared with the base year of 2022.

With the technical support provided by Carbon Stop, Beike has conducted two inventory of greenhouse gases generated by the real estate brokerage business and the whole in the past two years. Combined with the carbon inventory work, and comprehensively considering the future business plan, the low-carbon development level of the industry, the current emission reduction measures and other factors, the carbon neutrality goal and action route are proposed.

At the operational level, Beike plans to carry out emission reduction measures from the paths of management efficiency improvement, energy structure optimization, and technological innovation. About 80% of Beike's operational-level emissions come from the emissions generated by purchased electricity, of which nearly 80% come from the electricity use emissions of its stores, so energy conservation in stores is the top priority for Beike to achieve its own operational carbon neutrality goal.

At the value chain level, Beike will actively promote the emission reduction and carbon reduction of upstream and downstream ecological partners, and carry out emission reduction measures from the perspectives of green procurement, green supply chain and green logistics to help the low-carbon development of the industry. According to the results of the 2022 Beike Carbon Accounting, about 55% of the emissions in the Beike value chain come from Beike's daily procurement, including the procurement of products in the process of business development and the procurement of materials to support the company's own operations; About 21% of emissions come from data centers leased by Shell; About 15% of the emissions come from the large equipment, vehicles, furniture, etc. purchased by Shell.
