Huang Runqiu pointed out that the treatment of new pollutants is an important part of comprehensively promoting the construction of a beautiful China, which is related to the health of the people and the safety of the ecological environment. General Secretary Xi Jinping put forward clear requirements for the treatment of new pollutants at the National Conference on Ecological and Environmental Protection, and the "Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on Comprehensively Promoting the Construction of a Beautiful China" made specific arrangements for the treatment of new pollutants, which fully reflects the great importance that the Party Central Committee attaches to the protection of the ecological environment and the treatment of new pollutants. We must deeply study and comprehend the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on the treatment of new pollutants, resolutely implement the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, concentrate on promoting the work of new pollutants control, accelerate the formation of new quality productivity with high-level protection, and help build a beautiful China where man and nature coexist in harmony with new practical results in the treatment of new pollutants.
Huang Runqiu emphasized that in recent years, all member units of the coordination group have adhered to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thoroughly implemented the Action Plan for the Treatment of New Pollutants, established and improved the work promotion mechanism, carried out statistical surveys on environmental information of chemical substances, focused on the prevention and control of outstanding risks of new pollutants, strengthened scientific and technological support, promoted the green transformation of relevant industries, and promoted positive progress in the treatment of new pollutants. The meeting deliberated and approved in principle the "2022-2023 Work Summary and 2024 Key Work Plan of the Inter-Ministerial Coordination Group for the Treatment of New Pollutants", and listened to the report on the work of the Expert Committee on the Treatment of New Pollutants.
