In the national marine ranch demonstration area, which is 11 kilometers away from the coast of Laizhou City, Shandong Province, there is the country's first "offshore wind power + marine ranching" integrated development research and pilot project. The reporter learned from the State Grid Laizhou Power Supply Company that the on-grid electricity of this project will reach 184.85 million kilowatt-hours in the first two months of 2024, and the annual on-grid electricity will exceed 1 billion kilowatt-hours.
The Laizhou "Offshore Wind + Marine Ranching" project has an installed capacity of 304 MW and will be connected to the grid at full capacity in March 2023, generating 729.78 million kWh of electricity that year. According to the annual on-grid electricity of 1 billion kWh, the project can save 300,000 tons of standard coal consumption every year, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 780,000 tons, sulfur dioxide emissions by 5,700 tons, and nitrogen oxide emissions by 8,500 tons.
Laizhou City is bordered by the Bohai Sea and is a high-value area of wind speed in Shandong Province, with abundant wind energy resources. It is estimated that by 2030, the total installed capacity of new energy will exceed 10 million kilowatts, and an investment of 86 billion yuan will be completed, realizing the integrated and coordinated development of R&D, equipment manufacturing and operation and maintenance, and the output value of the whole industrial chain will exceed 50 billion yuan.
The consumption of new energy is inseparable from the support of reliable power grids. As a consumer, State Grid Laizhou Power Supply Company is fully committed to serving the full consumption of new energy power generation, and steadily promoting the development of new energy industry and the large-scale development and high-quality development of offshore wind power. The local government has accelerated the implementation of the new construction project of Jiuding 220 thousand volt switch station in Yantai, Shandong Province, and further optimized the grid structure of Laizhou power grid to meet the needs of new energy development.
