The Blue Book of Fujian Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Report (2023) was officially released

On December 14, the 2023 academic annual meeting of the Fujian Institute of Electrical Engineering was held in Fuzhou, at which the Economic and Technological Research Institute of State Grid Fujian Electric Power Co., Ltd., a key think tank in Fujian Province, officially released the blue book of low-carbon development "Fujian Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Report (2023)". It is reported that the report is China's first provincial low-carbon development blue book, which has been released three times in a row since 2021, and has become an important flagship product of the institute as a key think tank in Fujian Province.

With the theme of "Accelerating the Planning and Construction of a New Energy System", the "Fujian Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Report (2023)" includes seven parts: the general report, carbon sources and carbon sinks, low-carbon technologies, market prices, low-carbon policies, energy transition, and international reference.

The report focuses on the development and strategy of Fujian Province to achieve the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality, analyzes and studies the overall situation and key tasks faced by Fujian Province's "dual carbon" work from 2022 to 2023 from multiple dimensions, perspectives and directions, introduces the low-carbon practice path of Fujian Province from the aspects of low-carbon technology, carbon market mechanism and energy transition, and puts forward countermeasures and suggestions for actively and steadily promoting the "double carbon" goal.

The report suggests that handling the relationship between energy transition and energy security, and accelerating the planning and construction of a new energy system are the keys to steadily promoting the "dual carbon" work at this stage. In the next step, Fujian Province should take into account the needs of economic and social development, take the construction of provincial-level demonstration zones for new power systems as the starting point, focus on the "five efforts", promote the construction of a new energy system, and help accelerate the implementation of the "double carbon" goal. First, on the supply side, we will coordinate traditional energy and new energy sources and strive to optimize the supply structure; second, on the consumption side, we will attach importance to structural optimization and efficiency improvement, and strive to improve the quality of consumption; third, in terms of technology, we will strive to achieve technological breakthroughs around source reduction and end capture; fourth, in terms of mechanism, we will focus on clean consumption and comprehensive utilization, and strive to improve the market mechanism; fifth, in terms of cooperation, we will strengthen resource sharing and industrial cooperation, and strive to achieve win-win cooperation.

Cai Jianhuang, deputy editor-in-chief of the report, said that this year's report generally follows the structure and layout of the previous two parts, and adds a large number of actual data and cases, hoping to provide some reference for the government, industry and enterprises.
