During his inspection of Xiong'an New Area, General Secretary Xi Jinping stressed that it is necessary to fully implement the innovation-driven development strategy, promote the implementation of cutting-edge policies and measures for reform and opening up in various fields and forward-looking innovation pilot demonstration projects in Xiong'an.

Innovation is the gene of Xiong'an, and now, with the acceleration of the implementation of innovative pilot demonstration scenarios, the face of the city of the future is becoming clearer. Today, we walked into the Xiong'an Pilot Free Trade Zone Exchange and Exhibition Center, one of the first zero-carbon demonstration buildings in the new area, to unlock Xiong'an's green innovation code from one building.

Hebei Radio and Television reporter Liu Jinbo:

Now we have come to the exhibition hall on the second floor of the exchange exhibition center, the outdoor temperature has reached below zero, but it is very warm inside, let's take a look at the display panel of the air conditioner, 25.9 degrees, very comfortable. So where does the heat come from?

China Railway Construction Hebei Xiong'an Urban Construction Co., Ltd. Design Department Wang Mingdong:

The heat energy here mainly comes from 60 ground source heat pump wells with a depth of 150 meters, which can not only heat in winter, but also cool in summer, and realize clean energy in the whole process, which is both environmentally friendly and energy-saving.

This zero-carbon building, which does not consume traditional energy sources such as coal and oil, and relies on renewable energy sources for continuous energy, is known as a "breathing building". Compared with electric heating, the application of ground source heat pump system reduces electricity consumption by more than 70%, and the efficiency of heating system compared with gas boilers is increased by nearly 50% on average. In addition to ground source heat pumps, there are also six active and passive green technology combinations, such as "ventilation corridors, thermal insulation and shading, photovoltaic storage and direct flexibility, energy storage water tanks, high-efficiency electromechanical, and intelligent operation and maintenance", and their integrated operation has become the "green core" to support zero carbon emissions.

Zhang Zhiguo, Design Director of China Railway Construction Hebei Xiong'an Urban Construction Co., Ltd.:

The exhibition center has achieved self-sufficiency in electrical energy, and the exhibition center has laid more than 1,000 square meters of photovoltaic panels on the top of the building to convert solar energy into electricity, which can generate 250,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity a year, and the unused electricity can also be connected to the Internet.

According to reports, a large part of the carbon emissions of buildings come from the energy consumption during the operation of the building. Without compromising its functional requirements, the Exchange and Exhibition Center is planned and designed to minimize carbon emissions at the source.

Zhang Zhiguo, Design Director of China Railway Construction Hebei Xiong'an Urban Construction Co., Ltd.:

The exterior window glass is coated glass, its heat supply performance is more than 50% higher than the exterior windows of other buildings, the middle of the glass is increased by electric shutters, through different use function needs, adjust different angles, winter can be insulated, summer can play a shading effect.

It is estimated that the exchange and exhibition center of the Xiong'an Pilot Free Trade Zone can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 190 tons per year, and the utilization rate of renewable energy will reach 100%.

Recently, Xiong'an New Area issued the "Guiding Opinions on the High-quality Development of Green Buildings in Xiong'an New Area" to encourage the promotion of ultra-low energy buildings, near-zero energy buildings and zero energy buildings, and the development of zero-carbon buildings. By 2025, a number of near-zero energy demonstration projects will be completed, so that the energy intensity of buildings in the whole region will be lower than the national average, and the level of building energy consumption will be close to or reach the level of developed countries at this stage.
