On October 22, the 25th annual meeting of the China Association for Science and Technology opened in Hefei, Anhui Province, at the International Green Aviation Development Forum held at the same time, Wu Guanghui, chief designer of COMAC C919 and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, shared the practical results of China's first domestic large aircraft C919 in the field of green aviation, as well as the green design concept of the C929 aircraft that is being preliminarily designed. "Compared with the old similar models, the C919 can reduce carbon emissions by 12%-15%, while the C929 puts forward a higher design goal to reduce carbon emissions by 60%. Wu Guanghui said that it can be said that the C919 is the world's first large aircraft to incorporate the concept of emission reduction into the top-level design. At present, the C929 aircraft has also entered the preliminary design stage, and a series of measures will be adopted to reduce carbon emissions. (Science & Technology Daily)
