From May 26 to 27, the 2024 Science and Technology Annual Conference of the Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences was held in Wuhan City, Hubei Province. The theme of this annual meeting is "Scientific and technological innovation empowers the construction of a beautiful China". Huang Runqiu gave a keynote speech titled "In-depth Study of the Spirit of the National Ecological and Environmental Protection Conference and Comprehensively Promote the Construction of a Beautiful China". He said that Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization is an important part of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and an action guide for the construction of ecological civilization in the new era.
