The cumulative turnover of power generation enterprises in the Guangxi carbon emission trading market was 207 million yuan
On December 7, the reporter learned from the press conference on the progress and effectiveness of Guangxi's implementation of carbon peak and carbon neutrality that Guangxi's three measures actively participated in the construction of the national carbon emission trading market, and as of October 2023, the cumulative turnover of power generation enterprises in the region was 207 million yuan.
Guangxi actively participated in the construction of the national carbon emission trading market, and 43 key emitting enterprises in the power generation industry were included in the quota management of the first compliance cycle (2019-2020) and carried out settlement and compliance as required, with an actual compliance volume of 171 million tons and a compliance rate of 99.97%. As of October 2023, the power generation enterprises under the management of the region have bought a total of 2.9487 million tons of quotas with a turnover of 143 million yuan, and sold a total of 4.425 million tons with a turnover of 207 million yuan.
Persistently do a good job in the daily supervision of data quality. Establish a special class for data quality supervision and quota settlement in the carbon emission trading market. Organize key emitting enterprises to carry out annual greenhouse gas emission reports and verifications, and strictly verify the quality of report data. Organize key emitting enterprises in the power generation industry to carry out monthly information storage, and set up a professional technical team to carry out technical assessment. Since February 2023, the submission rate of Guangxi's monthly informatization evidence deposit has been 100% on schedule.
Complete the 2021 and 2022 quota settlement on time and with good quality. A total of 42 enterprises in the region participated in the second compliance cycle (2021-2022) of the national carbon emission trading market, covering an average of more than 87 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year. In accordance with the work requirements of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Department of Ecology and Environment of the Autonomous Region organizes and carries out the trial calculation and verification of enterprise quotas, and issues quotas in an orderly manner. At the same time, establish a performance supervision mechanism, dynamically track and assess the performance risk of enterprises, and urge enterprises to complete quota payment on time and in full. Up to now, the compliance rate of the whole region has exceeded 99%.
Make every effort to prepare for the expansion of the national carbon market. Organize key enterprises in steel, building materials, petrochemical, chemical, non-ferrous metals, papermaking and other industries to carry out annual greenhouse gas emission reporting and verification, and sort out and summarize the relevant data of greenhouse gas emissions of more than 170 enterprises. At the same time, we will strengthen policy publicity, take the initiative to help and guide, promote enterprises to improve their internal carbon emission management systems, improve the quality of carbon emission data, and continuously consolidate the data foundation for the expansion of the national carbon emission rights market.
