Hainan strives to build an "upgraded version" of the National Ecological Civilization Pilot Zone to expand the value of ecological products and realize pilot practices

　　The reporter recently learned from the 2024 Hainan Provincial Ecological and Environmental Protection Work Conference that this year, Hainan will plan to build a demonstration model at different levels and in different fields, formulate and promote the issuance of an implementation plan for writing a new chapter in beautiful Hainan on a new journey and striving to be a demonstration model for a beautiful China, and create an "upgraded version" of the national ecological civilization pilot zone.

　　"Based on Hainan's characteristic endowment and the regional coordinated development layout of 'three poles, one belt and one district', we will cultivate multi-field pilot demonstrations, explore 'dual carbon' demonstration and innovation, establish a carbon neutrality system for large-scale activities, build low-carbon hotels and low-carbon scenic spots, and promote carbon inclusive trading mechanisms. 　　According to reports, the Hainan Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment will also focus on consolidating and expanding the achievements of the "plastic ban", expanding the pilot practice of realizing the value of ecological products, strengthening ecological diplomacy and ecological culture construction, and other fields of work to continue to make efforts, deepen the construction of the national ecological civilization pilot zone, and strive to be a demonstration model.

　　Taking the pilot practice of expanding the value of ecological products as an example, this year, the Hainan ecological environment system plans to further promote the pilot construction of the "Two Mountains Platform" in Baisha, the ecological product value (VEP) accounting of specific regional units in Changjiang, and the application of GEP accounting in Qionghai, and encourage cities and counties to explore the transformation of local practices of the "Two Mountains" with their own bright spots. Carry out the evaluation of the effectiveness of the pilot project to realize the value of ecological products, summarize and refine a number of typical cases, and deepen and expand the type and scope of the pilot in a timely manner.

　　In addition, in terms of serving the overall situation of the construction of the free trade port and providing multi-level support to ensure high-quality development, the Hainan ecological environment system will deepen the application of ecological environment zoning control, expand application scenarios, optimize the application platform, do a good job in deep integration with the platforms of provincial departments, explore the application mode of "machine + environmental impact assessment", deepen the pilot application of ecological environment zoning control in the park, release the 2023 update results of "three lines and one order", and complete the province's dynamic update and filing in 2024.
