"Last year, we delivered 18,600 tons of carbon dioxide products to the Daqing Oilfield. Yu Shouzhu, deputy director of the urea plant area of the fertilizer operation department of Daqing Petrochemical Company, pointed to the "big one" - Daqing Petrochemical 400,000 tons/year high-concentration carbon dioxide recovery device said, "At the beginning of January, Daqing Oilfield has a demand for carbon dioxide products, and our device 'starts again', and the products are qualified to be delivered on the first day of the new year, and 11.4 tons of carbon dioxide products are delivered to Daqing Oilfield per hour, which is equivalent to the amount of carbon dioxide absorbed by 57,000 trees per hour." In May last year, the plant was fully completed and put into operation, and the annual production load could recover 260,000 tons of carbon dioxide that year, and 400,000 tons of carbon dioxide this year, which is equivalent to an increase of 400,000 acres of forest area. ”

The high concentration of carbon dioxide in Daqing Petrochemical Company is mainly a by-product of the ammonia synthesis plant. In the past, some of this carbon dioxide was used as raw material for urea (commonly known as "fertilizer") plants, and the excess was directly discharged into the atmosphere, with an annual emission of about 400,000 tons. Today, Daqing Petrochemical Company will recover these excess carbon dioxide, through the 400,000 tons/year high-concentration carbon dioxide recovery device, the carbon dioxide is compressed, dried, cooled and other treatments, which can not only form a product to meet the demand for oil displacement in Daqing Oilfield, but also known as "an emerging oil displacement agent". In this way, carbon dioxide is turned into treasure, reducing carbon emissions and increasing oil recovery in existing fields.
In the central control room of the device, the reporter saw that the staff was staring at the screen, monitoring the data of the 400,000 tons/year high-concentration carbon dioxide recovery unit of Daqing Petrochemical. According to Yu Shouzhu, the device has a simple process, low recovery cost, high return rate and full automation, with an 8-hour cycle and 24-hour full monitoring during operation. "After the device was put into operation, after several months of day and night, we gradually figured out the 'temper' of the device and helped the device to 'cultivate and improve'. Today, the adsorption process of the dryer in the plant has been extended from 8 hours to 12 hours, reducing the wear and tear of the switching process such as valves, and increasing the service life of the dryer. At the same time, the qualified process of dryer regeneration is reduced from 12 hours to 8 hours, saving 4 hours of operation time of the electric heater, which can save 5,600 kWh, and the regeneration process twice a day can save 11,200 kWh. ”
