The "Opinions" clearly pointed out that the construction of large-scale wind power photovoltaic bases, supporting power sources and transmission channels in desert, Gobi and desert areas such as Kubuqi, Tengger, Ulan Buhe, and Badain Jarin should be accelerated. At present, the Energy Bureau of the Autonomous Region is stepping up communication with the relevant ministries and commissions of the state, promoting the optimization of the interconnection mode of Mengxi Power Grid and North China Power Grid, strongly supporting the construction of transmission channels, actively striving for supporting power supply to be included in the plan, and stepping up the implementation of new energy pilot projects, laying a good 'template' for the construction of the base, and striving to enter the specific implementation stage as soon as possible after the 'trinity' planning and layout of the base is fully implemented. As the leading department, the Energy Bureau of the Autonomous Region has strengthened project scheduling, coordinated and promoted project construction work, studied and issued the "Notice on Further Simplifying the Approval of Power Grid Projects", optimized the approval process of power grid projects, compressed more than half of the approval time for power grid projects on average, and accelerated the progress of power grid construction.
The Department of Natural Resources, the Department of Ecology and Environment, the Forestry and Grassland Bureau and other departments of the Autonomous Region fully cooperated, intervened in advance, took the initiative to dock, and assisted in the whole process, simplifying the procedures and compressing the procedure cycle. Recently, the 2 million kilowatt photovoltaic sand control project in Kubuqi, Mengxi base, jointly invested and constructed by Three Gorges Energy and Elion Clean Energy, has been connected to the grid at full capacity in Hangjinqi, Ordos City.
The project is the first batch of large-scale wind power photovoltaic base projects in the country to start construction, and it is also the largest single photovoltaic desertification control project in China. The average annual power generation of the project is about 4.1 billion kilowatt hours, which can save about 1.23 million tons of standard coal, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 3.19 million tons, restore and control the desert area of 100,000 mu, and reduce the average annual sediment delivery to the Yellow River by about 2 million tons.
Chase the "wind" and "sun" and march towards green. The construction of the large wind and solar base in full swing has not only changed the appearance of the desert, but also ushered in the historical opportunity of energy and industrial structure reshaping in Ordos.
In order to implement the requirements of the "Opinions", Ordos City gives full play to the advantages of rich renewable energy resources and smart grid systems, promotes overall and comprehensive policies, and vigorously promotes the development of the whole new energy industry chain of "wind, solar and hydrogen storage vehicles". Not long ago, the first batch of 216 wind turbines of the first phase of the 6 million kilowatt demonstration project of the 6 million kilowatt demonstration project of Ulanqab Wind Power Base was hoisted. As the first million-kilowatt national large-scale wind and solar base project in Ulanqab City, the project has an installed capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts and a supporting construction of a 180,000 kilowatt/2-hour energy storage power station.

At present, Inner Mongolia has successively approved 4 bases of 1 million kilowatts of photovoltaic pilot projects, of which the Kubuqi Desert Ordos Central and Northern Ordos New Energy Base Pilot Project has entered the final sprint construction stage, which is planned to be connected to the grid and put into operation by the end of 2023, and the remaining 3 pilot projects have all started by the end of October 2023 and will be connected to the grid by the end of 2024.

Not long ago, the second phase of the 2 million kilowatt wind power project of Xing'an League achieved full capacity grid-connected power generation. As one of the first batch of large-scale wind power and photovoltaic base construction projects issued by the state, the project can provide more than 6 billion kWh of clean electricity for the power grid every year after it is put into operation, save about 2 million tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 4.84 million tons per year, achieve a win-win situation of ecological and economic benefits, and help the regional green development to a new level.
As one of the provinces and autonomous regions with the highest concentration of desertification and desertification in the country, Inner Mongolia has an arduous task of desertification prevention and control.

In terms of the construction of supporting channels, we will actively plan to build new energy transmission channels in Mengxi, promote the early start of construction of the three UHV transmission channels of Kubuqi-Shanghai, Tengger-Jiangxi, Ulan Bu and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, and complete and put into operation as soon as possible.
