On September 7, the roundtable forum on "Energy Transition and Low-carbon Innovation" was held in Taiyuan Wutong Apartment. The forum was co-sponsored by the Shanxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Industry and Information Technology, the Energy Bureau, the Carbon Neutrality 50 Forum of Multinational Corporations, the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China and the Shanxi Research Institute of Huairou Laboratory.

In the keynote speech session, Han Buxing, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and researcher of the Institute of Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a speech entitled "Green Carbon Science". He said that achieving carbon neutrality is of great significance and is a complex system engineering, but it faces huge challenges. The core scientific issues are the transformation of matter and energy. The development of green carbon science is an important means to achieve sustainable development and the goal of "double carbon", which mainly involves the efficient conversion and utilization of fossil resources, carbon dioxide conversion and utilization, biomass conversion and utilization, and recycling of waste carbon resources.

Lu Yuebing, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Air Liquide (China) Investment Co., Ltd., delivered a speech entitled "Four Innovations to Help Energy Transition and Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Goals". He believes that a bottom line in response to climate change is to control the temperature rise at 1.5 °C, the two goals are to achieve carbon peak, carbon neutrality, the three paths of energy transition are industrial structure transformation, energy efficiency improvement, energy structure transformation, the driving force comes from technological innovation, institutional innovation, financial innovation, strategic innovation and other four major innovations. He proposed that the future possession of technology is to occupy the core competitiveness, market mechanism innovation should focus on the combination of promising government and effective market, overall consideration of personal interests and public interests, short-term interests and long-term interests, the development of green and low-carbon industries to have capital thinking, strategic innovation to focus on low-carbon, capitalization, digitalization, internationalization.

Sun Yuhan, Dean of Shanxi Research Institute of Huairou Laboratory, delivered a speech entitled "Thoughts and Suggestions on Shanxi's Energy Revolution in the Context of Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Goals and Digital Wave". He pointed out that the dual carbon goal and the digital wave are changing the single mode of energy demand for economic development, and Shanxi, as the province with the most prominent resource advantages and advantageous location, will become more and more prominent in strategic value, through technological innovation, integrated demonstration and mechanism innovation, the coal supply guarantee will be transformed into power supply, material supply and case supply, and promote Shanxi from a large resource province to a large economic province, Shanxi will inevitably become a vital vanguard and main force in the energy revolution and digital revolution in the new era.
