China Securities Network News (Reporter Song Weidong) On October 20, FAW Jiefang and Shell officially released the Starship China the concept truck (Starship ) jointly built by the two parties. Star Concept Truck brings together the cutting-edge concepts and technical advantages of both parties, and is a pioneer concept truck specially built for China's road transport industry, which can maximize low-carbon emission reduction while improving transportation efficiency, and promote the energy efficiency upgrade and green transformation of China's road transport industry. After this release, the Star Concept Truck will also meet with Volkswagen soon, and will carry out a series of landing activities such as road tests next year.
The road transport industry is an important force to promote the development of the national economy and is also a "big user" of carbon emissions. In recent years, under the general trend of global decarbonization and emission reduction, it has become an industry consensus to build a green and low-carbon road transport system and help the sustainable development of road transport. In this context, the road transport industry needs to actively consider how to balance the dual goals of cost reduction and efficiency improvement and low-carbon emission reduction. Based on this, FAW Jiefang and Shell reached a strategic cooperation to jointly build the Star Concept Truck to explore sustainable development solutions for China's commercial vehicle and road transport industries.
In recent years, FAW Jiefang has always accelerated the implementation of the new energy transformation strategy around green and low-carbon in terms of technology research and development, independently controlled key technologies and core assemblies, accelerated the implementation of a number of high-level forward-looking and strategic science and technology projects, promoted the output and transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements, continued to consolidate and expand the advantages of leading technology and product navigation, and promoted the strategic transformation of carbon neutrality of commercial vehicles. Shell is the world's leading provider of energy solutions and has been actively exploring sustainability in recent years with a focus on net zero. In the field of road transport, Shell is active in the Starship project, working with the industry's leading manufacturers to continuously iterate on technologies and solutions. The Chinese market is one of Shell's key strategic markets globally. The Starship China concept truck project is a customized project created by Shell specifically for the Chinese market.
The Star Concept truck closely meets the actual situation and pain points of China's road transportation, and achieves all-round upgrades from vehicle design, intelligent manufacturing, power system to energy use, bringing the dual value of efficiency improvement, energy conservation and carbon reduction. Among them, the industry-leading aerodynamics package is adopted to minimize the drag coefficient and improve the driving stability of the truck; Low rolling resistance tyres, combined with Shell's advanced lubrication technology and Shell formula diesel, improve fuel economy; Using advanced low-carbon fuels to provide green power to vehicles and reduce engine energy losses; Highly intelligent equipment can reduce costs and increase efficiency, improve road driving safety, and escort drivers. In the future, these industry-leading technologies will also be gradually applied to daily road transportation, promoting the optimization and upgrading of the road transport industry in an all-round way.
Li Sheng, Deputy General Manager of FAW Jiefang, said that the Star Concept Truck is not only a carrier for the centralized display of existing new technologies of both parties, but also a platform for joint innovation between the two parties in the future. Next, we will continue to focus on the development trend of green, low-carbon, intelligent and connected technologies, and promote the continuous iteration of new technologies in Star Woo concept trucks.
