Beijing issued the "Implementation Opinions" to comprehensively promote the high-quality development of new energy heating

The "Implementation Plan for Promoting the High-quality Development of New Energy in the New Era" and "Several Opinions on Promoting the Development and Utilization of Geothermal Energy" jointly formulated by the National Development and Reform Commission and other departments put forward that biomass energy, geothermal energy, and solar heating should be promoted according to local conditions.

Beijing is one of the few capitals with geothermal resources, with abundant reserves of new energy heating resources. In recent years, Beijing's new energy heating has entered a period of rapid development, with continuous enrichment of application forms, gradual improvement of management mechanisms, steady improvement of heating scale, and a number of demonstration projects such as ground source heat pump heating (refrigeration) of Beijing Daxing International Airport have been completed. By the end of 2022, the city's new energy heating area has reached 106 million square meters, which can replace about 800 million cubic meters of gas every year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1.7 million tons, with remarkable energy conservation and emission reduction effects.

In order to further promote the adjustment of the energy structure and help achieve the goal of carbon peaking, recently, ten departments including the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission and the Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Commission have studied and formulated the "Implementation Opinions on Comprehensively Promoting the High-quality Development of New Energy Heating" (hereinafter referred to as the "Implementation Opinions"), and put forward work measures and support policies to promote the high-quality development of new energy heating.
