Recently, 10 brand-new energy storage power vehicles of Chang'an Airlines, an enterprise under the jurisdiction of Airport New Town, Xixian New District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, were put into use at Xi'an Xianyang International Airport, and it is expected that after this batch of energy storage power vehicles are put into use, they can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 6,300 tons throughout the year.
Since being selected as one of the first batch of low-carbon near-zero carbon park pilots in Shaanxi Province, Airport New City has paid more attention to the coordinated promotion of carbon reduction and pollution reduction, comprehensive policies, and continued to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions through measures such as adjusting the industrial structure and energy structure, so as to achieve the sustainable development of the city. The commissioning of energy storage power vehicles is also another important measure for the construction of the Airport New City in a low-carbon and near-zero-carbon park.
As the "power bank" of the aircraft, the energy storage power vehicle can replace the aircraft auxiliary power unit (APU) and part of the bridge power supply, which can effectively reduce the energy consumption, emissions and noise pollution during the aircraft parking position and the bridge, and it is expected that after the energy storage power vehicle is put into use, it can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 6,300 tons throughout the year.
In order to actively implement the requirements of pollution reduction and carbon reduction in the new city, Changan Airlines has accelerated the replacement of fuel vehicles, installed exhaust transformation equipment for nearly 60 fuel support vehicles, and introduced and put into use a total of 26 energy storage power vehicles, new energy passenger ferries, conveyor belt vehicles, etc., and will successively introduce various new energy models such as aircraft tractors, baggage tractors, and passenger ladder trucks to effectively reduce vehicle exhaust emissions.
For a long time, the Airport New City has been actively innovating urban development methods, focusing on the improvement of environmental quality, and exploring new paths for coordinated carbon reduction and pollution control. In December 2023, Seazen's "Exploration of the Development Path of Green and Low-Carbon Airport Cities" was released at the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference as the only typical case of synergy in pollution reduction and carbon reduction of airport cities in China. During the same period, in a series of activities such as the parallel forum of the "2023 Boao Forum for Chinese Entrepreneurs" and the "9th Green Development Forum", Airport New City was awarded the "2023 Excellent City for Green Development".
In addition, focusing on the "dual carbon" goal, the Airport New City has taken the lead in researching the green and low-carbon development path of the airport city in conjunction with Xi'an Jiaotong University in combination with the regional development characteristics, and established a personalized low-carbon city index evaluation system suitable for the development characteristics of the aviation city, which has been highly praised by experts from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) for its comprehensive and all-round scientific guidance on the green and low-carbon development path of the new city from multiple perspectives such as economy, energy, airport construction, aviation industry and construction industry.
