Dalian Communications Group adheres to the green sustainable development goals of public transportation, makes overall planning and top-level design, and compiles the "Action Plan for Green Urban Rail Development of Dalian Public Transport Construction and Investment Group". Dalian Communications Group has carried out the planning and design of the "green subway", and evaluated and analyzed the impact of occupying urban roads, traffic interference, disappearance of green belts, construction dust, noise, vibration and waste discharge on the environment one by one for construction sites and sidewalks, foundation construction, material equipment and earthwork transportation and other construction activities; "Green Metro" to demonstrate the environmental feasibility of the project.

Strictly control civilized construction, continue to implement fine control of dust pollution, standardize the management of various construction sites of Dalian subway projects, comprehensively reduce pollution at construction sites, continuously improve environmental quality, and use digital technology to empower construction management and build green subway projects. On the basis of 100% enclosure of the construction site, 100% hardening of the construction site, 100% cover of Yifeiyang materials, 100% washing of vehicles out of the construction site, 100% wet operation of the demolition site, and 100% closed transportation of muck vehicles, 100% of the construction sites are installed with remote monitoring and dust online monitoring equipment, and measures such as vehicle washing facilities are set up, earthwork covering and greening, and dust suppression by sprinkling operations.

Dalian Communications Group has carried out in-depth integration of subway and bus, optimized the mutual feeding of lines, smoothed microcirculation, improved convenience, improved the travel rate of public transportation, reduced the empty driving rate and line overlap rate, and reduced the waste of overlapping resources and energy consumption. Dalian Communications Group's existing energy-saving and environmentally friendly vehicles account for more than 83% of the total number of buses in operation, with 100% coverage of 500 meters of conventional transportation stations and 300 meters of coverage in the city center.

On the annual "World Car-free Day", citizens can take buses and subways for free with driving licenses, and "Metro Open Day" activities are held regularly every year. Continuously improve public transport mobility-as-a-service (Maas) capabilities. Through the "Carbon Emission Reduction Center" of the "Dalian Transportation e-Travel" APP, it provides citizens with one-stop travel services of "smart decision-making before departure, mobile payment during the trip, and green incentives after the trip", and verifies the carbon reduction behavior generated by residents' transportation in the form of "carbon credits" as the carbon reduction amount that can be used for trading, exchanging commercial incentives or obtaining policy indicators.

"Green technology" helps to save energy and reduce consumption

Relying on the subway construction project, Dalian Communications Group has refined more than 100 mature "four new technologies" and optimized more than 100 details represented by "key technologies and applications of geothermal energy intelligent construction of subway stations". Carry out the key technology and application of intelligent construction of geothermal energy in subway stations, rely on the underground station building of Dalian Metro, organically integrate heat exchange components with subway underground structures, develop and utilize shallow geothermal energy, reduce carbon emissions, and build the first energy subway station in China and the first green rail transit project demonstration project of energy underground structure in China. The implementation of the research and application of permanent magnet motor technology for subway trains, the first time in China to replace the existing asynchronous traction system with DC1500V permanent magnet traction system, the energy consumption was reduced by 36.4%. The research and application of regenerative braking energy feedback device was implemented, and the maximum feedback power of the experimental equipment in a single day was 1426 kWh. The implementation of energy-saving lamps and lanterns renovation projects, in the Dalian Metro base vehicle warehouses, interval tunnels, extensive implementation of energy-saving lamps and lanterns transformation, at present, in 2023, the annual savings of about 7.906 million kilowatt hours.
