The reporter learned from the press conference that last year, Hubei made every effort to promote the battle of pollution prevention and control, and handed over the "ecological answer sheet" with stable "temperament", cleaner "water quality" and higher ecological "appearance".

Focusing on the prevention and control of air pollution, Hubei has strengthened source control, deepened the coordinated emission reduction of nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds, completed 5,525 air pollution control projects, and promoted the rectification of 4,005 volatile organic compounds. Non-point source pollution such as open burning, in-depth implementation of clean diesel vehicles (engines) action, cancellation of 42,000 vehicles with emission standards of China III and below in accordance with the law, solid promotion of non-road mobile machinery environmental code registration, accelerate the improvement of the level of clean motor vehicles, the province's new energy buses accounted for more than 78%;

Focusing on improving the quality of the water environment, the province continued to implement the "Double Ten" action of high-level protection and improvement of the Yangtze River and the "Double Ten" action of carbon reduction, pollution reduction and green expansion in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, carried out five pilot projects for the comprehensive treatment of small watersheds, eliminated 62% of black and odorous water bodies in county-level cities, and completed 208 new black and odorous water bodies in rural areas; The water quality of the northern section of the main stream of the Yangtze River has been maintained at Class II for five consecutive years, and the water quality of the Danjiangkou Reservoir has been stable above Class II, ensuring that "one river of clean water flows eastward and one reservoir of clean water is sent to the north".

In order to build a solid bottom line of ecological security, Hubei strictly controls soil source pollution. Implement soil pollution control of land plots of closed and relocated enterprises, promote the safe use of polluted cultivated land, complete the soil pollution control of 147 priority supervision plots, and investigate the solid waste left over from the history of 1,828 closed mines, the safe utilization rate of polluted cultivated land in the province has reached more than 91%, and the safe use of key construction land has been effectively guaranteed; The use of chemical fertilizers in the province continues to decline.

Focusing on accelerating green and low-carbon development, Hubei strictly controlled the approval of "two high" projects, vigorously developed green energy, added 12.6 million kilowatts of grid-connected renewable energy capacity, and increased the proportion of renewable energy installed capacity to 65.4%; The water consumption per 10,000 yuan of industrial added value has been declining year after year; the construction of the regional carbon market has been deepened, with a cumulative turnover of 388 million tons and a turnover of 9.575 billion yuan, ranking first among the pilot areas in the country; the construction of an ecological province has been deepened, with an additional area of 1,632 square kilometers for soil erosion control, 2,956,500 mu of afforestation has been completed, and Jingzhou Chonghu Lake and Xiantaosha Lake have been added as wetlands of international importance; six national-level demonstration zones for the construction of ecological civilization and two practice and innovation bases for "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" have been successfully established.
