Based on the positioning of Hohhot as the capital city of the energy region, Hohhot has continuously promoted the high-quality development of the capital's modern energy economy in accordance with the development idea of "two firsts, two demonstrations, source-grid-load-storage, safety and efficiency". It is the first in the region to build an energy supply system with new energy as the main body, and take the lead in building a new power system with new energy as the main body. It has planned and built a 10 million kilowatt wind and solar new energy production base. The city has built an installed capacity of 3.2 million kilowatts of wind and solar new energy power generation, 3.9 million kilowatts are under construction, and about 8 million kilowatts are planned to be added during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. It is the first in the region to build a new energy system with integrated development of source, grid, load and storage, and create a safe and efficient energy supply guarantee system.

Baotou City actively promotes the construction of wind power photovoltaic bases, accelerates the construction of 4 new energy transmission channels and 4 5 million kilowatt new energy bases, and the two large channels of Baofeng 1 and Baofeng 2 have been started, and the two channels of Baofeng 3 and Baofeng 4 are being promoted. Accelerate the construction of a modern energy economic system. In terms of photovoltaic equipment industry, more than 40 crystalline silicon photovoltaic enterprises have gathered in Baotou City, and 13 leading enterprises such as Tongwei, TBEA, and Daqo have been put into operation, forming a complete industrial chain from polysilicon and monocrystalline silicon to slices, cells, and modules. In terms of wind power equipment industry, at present, CRRC Motor, Mingyang Group, NGC and other enterprises have been put into operation and settled in Baotou, and the city has formed a production capacity of 1,200 sets of wind power machines, 1,000 generators, 800 gearboxes, 1,600 sets of blades, 490,000 tons of towers, 13,000 tons of flange anchors, and 500 sets of pitch yaw reducers, basically forming a development pattern of the whole industry chain.

Ordos City resolutely shoulders the major political responsibility of building an important national energy and strategic resource base, and makes every effort to ensure national energy security. We will build "five bases" and strive to build a modern comprehensive energy supply system. The city released high-quality production capacity in an orderly manner, and started the revision of the overall plan of 12 coal mining areas to ensure the stable continuity of coal resources. We will dig deep into the existing potential, and promote the increase in production of coal mines in production, the commissioning of coal mines under construction, and the resumption of work and production of coal mines that have stopped production and construction. Up to now, the cumulative new production capacity is 160 million tons, and the total coal production capacity has reached 1 billion tons/year. At the same time, Ordos City has implemented scientific and technological innovation actions in the energy industry and actions to expand green and reduce carbon emissions in the energy industry, so as to enhance the "new content" and "green content" of the world-class energy industry. Deepen the "party building and gather energy", innovate the party building model, and form the energy industry party building alliance, whose members cover administrative institutions, central enterprises, state-owned enterprises and local private enterprises engaged in research, production and supporting services related to the energy industry in Ordos. Up to now, there are 108 registered member party organizations, including more than 1,300 party branches and more than 21,000 party members.
