China's first "General Principles for Carbon Label Evaluation of Electric Power and Electrical Products" was released, and the carbon label evaluation of electric power and electrical products has a "hard bar"
Recently, at the 2nd "Xiangshan on Carbon" Carbon Labeling Annual Conference and Carbon Footprint Carbon Labeling Phased Results Conference, the first "General Principles for Carbon Labeling Evaluation of Electric Power and Electrical Products" (DZJN224-2024) led by 7 units including the People's Government of Yueqing City, Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province and the State Grid Yueqing Power Supply Company was officially released. This marks a new journey for the formulation of low-carbon standards for the carbon label series on the road of breadth and diversity of scenarios, providing effective support for the standardized quality of the low-carbon industry and laying a solid foundation for promoting the high-quality development of the industry.
It is reported that the "General Principles for Carbon Label Evaluation of Power and Electrical Products" (DZJN224-2024) is the first group standard in China with power and electrical products as the main body, which stipulates the terms and definitions, evaluation principles, objectives and scope, carbon emission accounting, carbon label evaluation and other specific methods and requirements for carbon label evaluation of power and electrical products, which is applicable to carbon footprint accounting and carbon label evaluation of power and electrical products.

In recent years, Yueqing has successively launched the "carbon portrait five-color map" and "low-carbon code", and took the lead in implementing the "carbon equalization hero" reform in the province and even the country, and issued the "Yueqing City Construction Carbon Inclusive Mechanism Implementation Plan (Trial)", "Opinions on the Implementation of the "Carbon Equalization Hero" Reform to Promote the Development of Low-carbon Industrial Clusters and the Low-carbon Development of Industries" and "Several Preferential Policies for "Carbon Equalization Heroes" of Yueqing Industrial Enterprises.
Since 2022, State Grid Yueqing Power Supply Company has been committed to the pilot research and exploration of low-carbon construction of the power and electrical supply chain, and has cooperated with the Yueqing Municipal Government and the China Electronic Energy Conservation Technology Association and other units to carry out the systematic construction of electronic and electrical carbon footprint verification and carbon label evaluation, promote the pilot application of green procurement, and build a low-carbon supply chain demonstration base for power and electrical products, so as to provide enterprises with the potential to tap energy conservation and carbon reduction, and provide a new development channel for the ecological development of the entire electrical industry.
The release of the "General Principles for the Evaluation of Carbon Labels for Electric Power Products" has provided more standardized low-carbon certification standards for electric power and electrical products, and by participating in the standard evaluation, it has helped electric power and electrical enterprises to achieve standard guidance, provided basic guarantee for the development of product business, and helped the "double carbon" goal to develop more rapidly in the field of electric power and electricity.
