"U.S.-China cooperation on climate change and clean technology has received a lot of attention. The China International Import Expo (CIIE) provides an excellent channel and platform for this cooperation. An Feng, president of the U.S.-China Clean Technology Center, said in an interview with reporters a few days ago that the CIIE provides a very promising channel for American companies to expand the Chinese market, bringing infinite possibilities for future cooperation and innovation.
Founded in 2013, the U.S.-China Cleantech Center is responsible for assisting U.S. companies to effectively expand into the Chinese market. For the first time, the agency organized a pavilion of 16 U.S. cleantech companies to participate in this year's CIIE.
These companies represent multiple sub-sectors in the clean energy sector, including carbon neutrality and capture, clean energy, environmental protection technology, new energy vehicles, charging facilities, energy storage, green and smart buildings, clean fuels, and more.
"China's 'dual carbon' plan provides a broad market prospect for related cleantech products and solutions," An Feng said. U.S. companies have innovative products and solutions that will positively impact the development of China's low-carbon market and decarbonization goals. ”
Charlotte, North Carolina-based Conlead Technologies is part of the pavilion and will be participating in the expo for the first time this year. The company specializes in clean air and carbon solutions, and its air capture and point source CO2 capture solutions have been selected by the U.S. Department of Energy as demonstration projects and the company is a leading producer of denitrification catalysts in the United States.
In a recent written interview with reporters, the company said that in the past 15 years, it has licensed the catalyst technology for nitrogen oxide removal to a large number of Chinese companies to eliminate the main pollutants that produce acid rain. The main purpose of the exhibition is to promote a new carbon dioxide removal technology invented by the company.
"We hope to use the CIIE as a platform to meet new potential Chinese customers, investors and distributors, and help our company open up the Chinese CO2 capture market."
Illinois-based LanzaTech will also participate in the CIIE for the first time. The company's gas fermentation technology uses natural microorganisms to capture carbon in various industrial and domestic waste gases, reducing industrial carbon emissions while providing raw materials for the production of rubber, plastics, synthetic fibers and fuels.
In a written interview with reporters, the company said the purpose of the trip was to "promote our advanced decarbonization technology and explore more opportunities for cooperation with local and international companies".
In interviews, these institutions and companies all said that the climate problem is urgent and important, and that humanity needs to solve it together. In this field, there are many opportunities for cooperation between China and the United States, and the CIIE is an excellent platform for cooperation.
An Feng said: "I believe that CIIE can open the door to the Chinese market for our organization and member companies, and provide them with opportunities to develop together with Chinese partners." ”
