Tianjin has innovatively carried out the verification and reduction of carbon emissions from green electricity

Enterprises sell surplus carbon allowances or purchase shortfall allowances through the carbon market to complete the transaction and performance, so as to realize the transformation and appreciation of the value of ecological products. In the 2023 carbon emission management work, the city will innovate and carry out the verification and reduction of carbon emissions from green electricity, bring carbon reduction benefits to enterprises, and enhance the endogenous power of green and low-carbon development.

The first is to carry out research. In-depth study of the spirit of the national policy on green electricity, conduct a thorough investigation of the use of green electricity in more than 200 key enterprises in the city, understand the problems faced by the purchase and use of green electricity, and the opinions and suggestions on the carbon reduction of green electricity.

The second is to formulate measures. According to the application of green electricity by enterprises, combined with relevant work arrangements, it is proposed that key enterprises can apply for verification and reduction of green electricity carbon emissions in the 2023 carbon verification.

The third is to organize implementation. In the annual carbon verification work, the verification agency shall be guided to verify and reduce the carbon emissions of the green power part according to the green electricity certificate and other supporting materials。

It is estimated that in 2022, the green electricity purchased and used by key enterprises can reduce coal by 110,000 tons, carbon emissions by 200,000 tons, and emissions of particulate matter by 12 tons, sulfur dioxide by 11 tons, and nitrogen oxides by 59 tons, bringing more than 700 yuan of carbon reduction benefits to enterprises. Through the innovative reduction of green electricity carbon emissions, the enthusiasm of enterprises to continue procurement has been enhanced, the low-carbon energy structure has been promoted, and the synergy of pollution reduction and carbon reduction has been realized.
