　　7. Joint Statement of the BASIC Ministerial Conference on Climate Change

　　The ministers of Brazil, South Africa, India and China, who met on the sidelines of the BASIC Summit on 20 September 2023 on the sidelines of the BASIC Climate Ambition Summit in New York, agreed that addressing the challenge of climate change must be firmly grounded in the goals, principles and provisions of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), its Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement in the context of sustainable development and changes in global governance. 　　From January to September, the average proportion of days with good air quality in 339 cities at and above the prefecture level was 84.2%, down 1.5 percentage points year-on-year and up 2.7 percentage points from the same period in 2019, of which 92.0% were in September, up 10.9 percentage points year-on-year and 11.5 percentage points from the same period in 2019.>>> more to read here

　　13. The Ministry of Ecology and Environment released the results of the national air quality forecast consultation in the second half of October

　　In the second half of October, the air quality in most parts of the country was mainly excellent, and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and surrounding areas, the Yangtze River Delta region and the northwest region were mainly good to slightly polluted. From the 17th to the 18th, moderate PM2.5 pollution may occur in the central and southern cities of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and the surrounding areas, and some cities can reach severe pollution in a short time; from the 22nd to the 26th, moderate PM2.5 pollution may occur in the central and southern cities of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the surrounding areas; from the 27th to the 29th, moderate pollution may occur in Liaoning Province; and severe or above pollution may occur in the eastern and southern cities of Xinjiang from the 17th to the 19th and from the 25th to the 27th due to the influence of sand and dust weather.>>> more to read here
