Environmental experts talk every month| Explore the construction of a carbon inclusive system and promote green and low-carbon transformation

In order to help achieve the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality, advocate green consumption, promote the formation of green and low-carbon production and lifestyle, and fully mobilize the enthusiasm of all sectors of society to participate in carbon emission reduction actions and the construction of a national carbon financial center, on January 19, the Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment organized the first phase of the "Environmental Protection Expert Monthly Talk" activity in 2024. Members of the leadership team of the Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau and cadres and employees of the city's ecological environment system participated in the event through on-site and video conferences. Luo Wei, chief engineer of the Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment, presided over the event.

In this event, Liu Shu, chairman of Wuhan Carbon Inclusive Management Co., Ltd., gave an on-site lecture on the theme of "Practice and Thinking on the Construction of Wuhan Carbon Inclusive System". Starting from the review of the development process of the carbon market, the course introduces the background and concept of carbon inclusiveness, and then introduces the development status of carbon inclusion in China, the construction plan and management methods of Wuhan's carbon inclusive system, and shares the thinking on the sustainable operation of carbon inclusion in Wuhan from a practical perspective. This paper looks forward to the prospect of carbon inclusion in Wuhan from the aspects of expanding carbon inclusive methodology and personal low-carbon life scenarios, platform-based dual-carbon digital transformation services, construction of emission reduction consumption channels, and public participation, which provides useful ideas for the city to promote the formation of a green and low-carbon production and lifestyle.

Luo Wei emphasized that around the construction of the carbon trading market, we should focus on creating three bright spots. The first is to further promote the construction of a carbon inclusive system, and actively explore a sustainable carbon inclusive model led by the government and with diversified participation. The second is to further promote the national climate investment and financing pilot, promote Wuchang District to promote green and low-carbon development through financial means, and form a number of project libraries and introduce a series of financial support policies. The third is to further promote the carbon emission reduction actions of key enterprises, and actively cooperate with the pilot work of "expanding the industry and lowering the threshold" of the Hubei carbon market. Luo Wei called on all comrades in the city's ecological environment system to practice and widely publicize low-carbon life platforms such as "Wuhan Carbon Jianghu", promote the formation of a green and low-carbon living atmosphere, and establish a Wuhan carbon inclusive brand.
