The Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment held the second lecture series on carbon peak and carbon neutrality

On the afternoon of August 29, the Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment held the second lecture series on carbon peak and carbon neutrality policy knowledge, "Domestic and Foreign Climate Change Policies and Provincial and Municipal Response Strategies". Jiang Zhaoli, Deputy Director of the Department of Climate Change of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, was invited to give a special lecture. Hao Yanwei, member of the party group and deputy director of the department, presided over the meeting.

Director Jiang gave an in-depth explanation of the international climate change response strategy and strategic goals, China's "dual carbon" policy system and action plan, and the opportunities and challenges faced by provinces and cities under the "double carbon" goal, which has a good inspiration and guiding role in accurately understanding and thoroughly implementing the major strategic decisions of carbon peak and carbon neutrality.

Finally, Deputy Director Hao Yanwei pointed out that we should deeply understand, accurately understand and implement the national carbon peak and carbon neutrality strategic deployment, be practitioners of ecological civilization, and activists of climate governance, and unswervingly implement the national policy of actively responding to climate change. The first is to strengthen the construction of the work system to respond to climate change and ensure that the target of reducing carbon intensity is achieved. In accordance with the "14th Five-Year Plan" work plan for controlling carbon dioxide emissions issued by the provincial government, all cities should formulate annual action plans in a timely manner, refine and decompose the target tasks, regularly follow up and judge, and give timely warnings to ensure the completion of carbon intensity reduction targets. The second is to implement the responsibilities of carbon market management and deepen the pilot demonstration work. Do a good job in the management and verification of greenhouse gas emission reports in key industries, accelerate the monthly informatization and evidence storage of power generation enterprises, and organize key emitting enterprises in the province to carry out national carbon market transactions。 We will continue to deepen the construction of national low-carbon pilot cities in Yan'an and Ankang and climate-resilient cities in Xixian New Area and Shangluo City, and organize and carry out the establishment of low-carbon near-zero carbon pilot demonstration projects in Shaanxi Province, so as to provide strong support for promoting green and low-carbon development. The third is to increase publicity on climate change. Make full use of theme publicity activities such as Environment Day, Ecology Day, Low Carbon Day, and National Energy Conservation Publicity Week, carry out publicity on ecological environmental protection and climate change response, select advanced typical cases of pollution reduction and carbon reduction, and advocate green and low-carbon production and lifestyle.
