Caragana into a new forest breeding machine
As a shrub species for soil and water conservation and windbreak and sand fixation, Caragana is widely planted in Northwest China. Since the late 90s of the last century, Siziwangqi began to plant a large number of shrubs based on caragana, and at present, the planting area of caragana in the whole banner has reached 2.37 million mu, of which the forest area is 1.76 million mu.
The abundant resources of caragana have restored the vegetation of the hard beam land and sandy land of Siziwangqi, improved the ecological environment, and laid a solid material foundation for the processing of caragana feed. At present, there are 3 large and 6 small caragana feed processing enterprises in the whole banner, processing and producing hay meal, fermented grass powder and caragana granules and other forage materials, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons, which can meet the breeding needs of 150,000 farmers and herdsmen.

Potatoes become "golden beans"
Siziwangqi is not only a national potato breeding base, but also a large potato seed production county. Relying on local leading enterprises such as Inner Mongolia Sino-Canada Agricultural Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Siziwangqi regards the development of the seed industry as an important foundation for ensuring food security and the effective supply of major agricultural products and the starting point of the crop industry chain, and resolutely fights the "turnaround battle" of the seed industry.
Siziwangqi has built a good breeding base of 240,000 mu, independently developed 12 new potato varieties, and in 2023, the coverage rate of improved potato varieties in Siziwangqi will reach 100%, and 13 10,000-ton controlled atmosphere warehouses, 31 1,000-ton storage cellars, and 2,800 storage cellars of more than 60 tons have been built.
Siziwangqi has built an autonomous region-level "Kanhe Seed Selection" platform for two consecutive years, and in 2023, 33 potato varieties and 3 demonstration sites will be displayed, and a number of excellent varieties suitable for planting in the region will be screened. Up to now, more than 50 percent of the agricultural output value and about 45 percent of the farmers' income in the whole banner come from the potato industry, and "small potatoes" have become the "golden industry" of enriching the people and strengthening the banner.
Meat sheep breeds to expand the rich road
Siziwangqi vigorously develops the meat sheep industry, relying on the "National Meat Sheep Core Breeding Farm" - Inner Mongolia Sino Breeding Sheep Technology Co., Ltd., vigorously implements the "Meat Sheep Improvement and Quality Improvement Action", promotes the standardization and large-scale breeding of "Dumont sheep", and improves the mechanism of "Dumont sheep" breeding consortium, driving a total of 10,000 cooperative households, with an average income increase of 10,000 yuan. In 2023, more than 33 million yuan will be invested to continue the implementation of the Siziwangqi standardized sheep fattening farm project, and 110 million yuan will be invested in 21 key villages and demonstration villages for rural revitalization to build 22 standardized sheep breeding communities.

The wind energy resources of Ulanqab City account for 1/3 of the total wind energy reserves of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, while the wind energy resources of Siziwangqi account for 1/2 of the total wind energy reserves of Ulanqab City.

At present, Siziwangqi has built 17 wind and solar grid-connected power generation projects, with a total installed capacity of 1.59 million kilowatts.

Siziwangqi has a vast area, beautiful ecological environment, unique tourism resources, and splendid folk culture and historical monuments in the region, enjoying the reputation of "the back garden of the capital". In recent years, relying on the resource endowment of grassland culture and other resources, Siziwangqi has made every effort to build tourist attractions such as the National Geopark Museum, Hongya Plateau, Gegentala Grassland, and Poplar Forest, and has carefully developed three high-quality tourism routes, including grassland ecological tours, popular science exploration tours, and research and vacation tours, so that tourism has become a new engine for economic development.
