The autumn equinox has passed, the cinnamon fragrance is surging, and the land of Zhijiang is ushering in the time of the Asian Games.
"Silk Road scenery" lights up Hangzhou, and more than 100 million people contribute "green energy" through low-carbon actions... The Hangzhou Asian Games will realize the use of green electricity for the conventional electricity of all competition venues.
Zhejiang is the birthplace of the concept of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", and the "Green Asian Games" has become a distinctive symbol of the Hangzhou Asian Games.
Here, China's green development concept in the new era is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, the construction of a beautiful China is in full swing, and the picture of harmonious coexistence between man and nature is slowly spreading.

Hold the competition with low carbon and practice the "double carbon" action
In Hami, Xinjiang, a gust of wind blows, and the fan blades rotate; In Jiayuguan, Gansu, a beam of light is sprinkled, and electrons flow in photovoltaic panels... When the power gate of the venue is opened, the "scenery" along the Silk Road transmitted through the UHV power grid is instantly lit up.
Crossing mountains and seas, highlighting green considerations——
A monocrystalline bifacial photovoltaic module located in Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province has an average daily power generation of 2.2 kWh, which can be used for 220 hours by an energy-saving lamp in the gymnasium and natatorium of the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center; 16 green power transactions for the Hangzhou Asian Games have been completed so far, with a cumulative electricity of 621 million kilowatt hours, equivalent to saving 76,000 tons of standard coal; from March to the end of this year, all 56 competition venues of the Hangzhou Asian Games will continue to use green electricity.
Three years ago, China made a solemn commitment to the world: strive to peak carbon dioxide emissions before 2030 and strive to achieve carbon neutrality before 2060.
China's installed renewable energy capacity has historically surpassed that of coal power; Provide 50% of wind power equipment and 80% of photovoltaic module equipment to the world; The production and sales of new energy vehicles have ranked first in the world for 8 consecutive years... Guided by the "dual carbon" work, China continues to promote the green and low-carbon transformation of production methods and lifestyles.

The low-carbon concept under the "dual carbon" action runs through the whole process of preparation for the Hangzhou Asian Games.
"We have broken the previous mode of watching performances, adhering to the concept of green competition, there is no carbon emission in the whole process, no fireworks are set off, and the main cauldron uses green fuel." Sha Xiaolan, chief director of the opening ceremony of the Hangzhou Asian Games, said.
Careful planning and "squeezing" out the space for emission reduction is the work that the "zero-carbon engineers" hired by the Hangzhou Asian Organizing Committee are pondering every day. The energy consumption data of every lamp, every air conditioner, and every elevator is running rapidly in their minds.
On the 4th and 5th floors of the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium, sensors were installed in many corners. "Zero-carbon engineer" Lai Hanbin and his colleagues divided the two floors into more than 70 areas, installing sensors to collect data such as temperature, humidity, light, and crowd density.
This data is transmitted back to the smart O&M platform in real time, which calculates the optimal solution that takes into account energy consumption and comfort, dynamically manages the energy consumption of each area, and achieves precise carbon reduction. "When the system senses that there is enough light, the lights will be turned on a few less." Lai Hanbin said.
Little by little, it converges into light——
In the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Pavilion and Natatorium, the intelligent light guide system introduces outdoor natural light into the venue through 210 light guide tubes on the roof, which can save 100,000 kWh of electricity per year;
More than 2,000 new energy vehicles officially served by the Asian Games and Asian Paralympic Games will shuttle through multiple scenarios such as the venue and the Asian Games Village, providing a green and intelligent Asian Games travel experience.
The "all-round" fast charging station in Hangzhou Asian Games Village can charge up to 60 degrees in 15 minutes, meeting the energy demand of vehicles traveling 400 kilometers...
Look at a domain from a moment. In 2022, Zhejiang, as the country's first collaborative innovation zone for pollution reduction and carbon reduction, accounted for 1% of the country's land, 4% of the population, and 4% of carbon dioxide emissions, creating 6.26% of the country's GDP.
The low-carbon practice of the Hangzhou Asian Games will provide a new model for Zhejiang and even the whole country to promote the realization of the "double carbon" goal.
The ecological competition highlights the concept of "two mountains".
More than 600 years ago, the Yuan Dynasty painter Huang Gongwang lived in seclusion on the bank of the Fuchun River, leaving the famous painting "Fuchun Mountain Residence Map" on this clear and beautiful waterfront. Time passes, and the river surface of the fisherman rocking and fishing in the landscape map is about to become a field for athletes to paddle hard.
Strolling in the Fuyang Water Sports Center, the eyes are full of greenery, and the heart is relaxed. On the top floor of the venue, there is a sky garden that blends in with the surrounding natural landscape. Flowers and trees such as caryophyllus, zinnia, and yueji are planted here, which not only makes the greening rate of the entire venue reach 45%, but also sequesters carbon and oxygen, insulates heat and reduces rainwater runoff.
Yang Yang, a staff member of the State Grid Hangzhou Fuyang District Power Supply Company, who is "diagnosing the pulse" of the rainwater recycling system in the venue, said: "The rainwater from the roof is distributed and utilized through pipes after a series of purification treatments, and is used for watering green spaces, atrium water features and public health flushing. ”

The Hangzhou Asian Games not only has a roof garden "small ecology". Rolling mountains, flowing water, swaying trees... The local ecosystem has been continuously restored and improved, and a high-level "big ecology" has been built.
From the coast of the East China Sea to the bank of the Qiantang River, from the Hangjiahu Plain to the mountainous area of southwest Zhejiang, the land of Zhijiang is full of green and vitality. Since 2022, Zhejiang has promoted biodiversity investigation and assessment, and a total of 15 new species have been discovered.
Green is the true color of ecology and the background color of high-quality development.
Not long ago, when a number of envoys to China visited Zhejiang, they were deeply impressed by the Shaoxing Keqiao Yangshan Rock Climbing Center. This semi-open venue, shaped like a silkworm cocoon, is transparent from east to west. Looking to the west, the scenery of Yangshan Stone City is in full view, and the artificial rock wall track and the natural scenery of Yangshan Stone City are contrasted.
Behind the organic integration of modern architecture and natural environment is the moving story of the abandoned mine that has been built and developed into an international arena of "rock wall ballet".
On the Kehai Highway, not far from the venue, trucks loaded with fabrics flow endlessly: white grey fabrics are brought in, and colorful textile fabrics are transported out, which are dispersed to the downstream of the industrial chain. Traditional industries that once caused damage to the ecological environment are now undergoing green transformation.
The Zhejiang practice of the concept of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" was embodied in the Hangzhou Asian Games.
The Thousand Islands Blue Water Painting Competition, the Chun'an competition area of the Hangzhou Asian Games, is also a scenic spot. Taking the opportunity of preparing for the Asian Games, the local area will upgrade the quality of beautiful villages such as Xiajiang Village, Jieshou Asian Games Town, and Shilin Harbor Sports Town, and "string beads into a chain" of scenic spots, pastoral orchards, tea gardens, and ancient mountain villages and fishing villages.
Jieshou Township, Chun'an County, where the Asian Games sub-village is located, has vast waters, twists and turns in the harbor, and there is an endless stream of tourists riding and hiking along the line.
People live up to the green mountains, and the green waters and green mountains also add luster to the Asian Games.
Today, lucid waters and lush mountains are not only the "golden business card" of more than 19,000 villages in Zhejiang, but also a "cornucopia" of sustainable development. With the vigorous development of rural tourism and leisure agriculture, the per capita disposable income of rural residents in Zhejiang increased from 5,431 yuan in 2003 to 37,565 yuan in 2022.

Hold the competition in harmony and create a "symbiotic" city
In the golden autumn of Hangzhou, a bright "red" is flowing.
More and more Hangzhou citizens and tourists choose to ride public bicycles, "little red cars" shuttle through the streets and alleys, the Asian Games mascots on the body Congcong, Lianlian, Chenchen are particularly conspicuous, and the strong Asian Games atmosphere is coming.
Bicycle travel, online payment... In Hangzhou, many green lifestyles can accumulate carbon credits that can be used to offset the carbon emissions generated by the Asian Games and help achieve carbon neutrality for the Asian Games. Up to now, more than 100 million people have participated in the "1 kg per person, helping the Asian Games achieve carbon neutrality".
This megacity with a population of 10 million surrounded by green waters and lush mountains is exploring the way to live in harmony with nature.
Northwest of Hangzhou, Xixi National Wetland Park, wooden paddles pull water, rain hits the lake, wind blows bamboo leaves, and birds chirp. According to the biodiversity monitoring records for more than ten years, there are 1,040 species of vascular plants, 911 species of insects and 203 species of birds in Xixi Wetland, including Baer's Pochard and White-tailed Sea Eagle and other national first-class protected animals.
"Give the people the scene of clear water and green banks, fish and shallow bottoms", "Keep the idyllic scenery of birds and flowers for the people"... Taking advantage of the east wind of the Asian Games, the ecological picture scroll is spread out one by one.

Flowers are full of Hangzhou, and the fragrance is floating in the Asian Games. "We have regulated the flowering period of Hangzhou's characteristic plants, such as osmanthus, lotus, yueji, etc., giving full play to our technical advantages, making every effort to ensure that 'a hundred flowers bloom' and present the best state to guests and friends from all over the world." In the view of Cheng Erping, director of the Landscaping Division of the Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Landscape and Cultural Relics, Hangzhou should uphold nature on the one hand and reflect the characteristics of the landscape garden city on the other hand.
During the Asian Games, Hangzhou built and renovated more than 120 parks, completed more than 260 kilometers of subway greening, more than 50 kilometers of expressway greening, and planted more than 30,000 street trees and roadside trees. The curtain will open, and the Asian Flower Theme Garden on the bank of the Qiantang River will be officially opened, with more than 200 kinds of flowers competing to open.
A number of Asian Games co-host cities in Zhejiang have launched environmental optimization and improvement actions——
Citizens who often exercise in Jinhua Wuzhou Park have recently found that there are more delicate bird's nests on the trees. These tops are designed as slopes or circular nests in different shapes and are made of natural materials. Since the launch of the "1,000 Bird's Nests to Welcome the Asian Games" action, more than 2,000 artificial bird's nests and feeders have been laid out;
In Wenzhou Longzhou Lake, a team of algae prevention and control experts from Wenzhou University combined ultrasonic technology with traditional algae removal technology to act on algae blooms in the river and effectively improve the water quality.

With the way of nature, nourish the life of all things.
The unity of man and nature and the cultivation of all things are an important embodiment of Chinese civilization, and Chinese modernization is the modernization of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
Starting from the "Green Asian Games", we will continue to move forward along the path of ecological priority and green development, and continue to move forward to realize the sustainable development of the Chinese nation.
