Recently, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment announced the list of the first batch of pilot cities and industrial parks for collaborative innovation in pollution reduction and carbon reduction, and identified 21 cities and 43 industrial parks across the country as the first batch of pilot cities for collaborative innovation in pollution reduction and carbon reduction. Daxing District was successfully selected as a pilot city. Only two districts in Beijing have successfully declared.

The pilot work in Daxing District has a solid foundation, outstanding characteristics, remarkable results and obvious advantages. In recent years, Daxing District has strictly implemented the functional positioning of "three districts and one gateway", adhered to green and low-carbon development as a fundamental policy to solve ecological and environmental problems, supported the new development pattern of "dual circulation" of the central government based on services, firmly grasped the core functional areas of the central part of the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, and coordinated the promotion of "carbon reduction, pollution reduction, green expansion and growth", and accelerated the formation of green production methods and lifestyles, which has achieved remarkable results in all aspects. Pollutants and carbon emissions in the whole region have been continuously reduced, and the quality of the ecological environment has been stable and improving. Daxing International Hydrogen Energy Demonstration Zone has been built, the hydrogen energy industry chain covers all aspects of production, storage, transportation and fuel cell production, more than 900 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles have been promoted, the world's largest hydrogen refueling station has been established, the first hydrogen energy carbon emission reduction project in the country has been implemented, and the first carbon trading in the field of hydrogen transportation has been successfully realized. Beijing Daxing International Airport has become the airport with the highest proportion of renewable energy application in China; The comprehensive protection warehouse energy station project in the airport area has become a "near-zero energy consumption" building and was awarded the 2022 Beijing Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment Low-carbon Project Pilot; Yufa photovoltaic greenhouse was awarded the title of "the third batch of smart photovoltaic pilot demonstration projects" by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Eight primary schools in Daxing District have built the city's first carbon neutral demonstration school; Innovate and establish a carbon neutral school alliance to effectively use green electricity and practice the concept of green and low-carbon. After the Anding waste-to-energy plant is completed and put into operation, the annual power generation capacity is expected to be 590 million kilowatt hours, and the synergistic emission reduction effect of pollutants and carbon emissions is remarkable.
