Harbin Engineering helped the "Aida Modu" set sail

Recently, in Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., China's first domestic large-scale cruise ship "Aida Modu" was officially named and delivered. Harbin Engineering University gives full play to the advantages of gathering characteristic disciplines of ship and sea, organizes scientific research teams of relevant colleges and relevant units of the industry to cooperate to participate in the demonstration of cruise ships, and supports the leading units to build a technical system for cruise design and construction.

"Aida Modu" has gone through 8 years of scientific research and 5 years of design and construction. In 2017, Harbin Engineering participated in the research and development of related technologies such as overall design, networked service platform, power system, weight control, cabin environmental control, etc., relying on the technical foundation of multidisciplinary directions such as ship overall performance, power, control, computer, environment, materials, chemistry, etc. In the past 8 years, more than 1,000 teachers and nearly 1,000 masters and doctors from 9 colleges including the School of Naval Architecture and the School of Aeronautical Construction have participated in the research and development. The teams of the school carried forward the fine tradition of "Kazakhstan military industry", collaborated and innovated with industry units, and successfully completed various research work, which strongly supported the successful development and construction of China's first domestic large-scale cruise ship "Aida Modu".

The "Aida Modu" will start its maiden commercial voyage on January 1, 2024.
