The Beijing Green Exchange helps Shoucheng Times Center achieve carbon neutrality

On March 22, the 2024 Low-Carbon Building Industry Forum and the unveiling of the Shoucheng Times Center Demonstration Building were held at the Shoucheng Times Center in Shijingshan District, Beijing. The Shoucheng Times Center demonstration building has become another vivid practice of the green transformation of the low-carbon building industry. Wang Huijun, deputy general manager of Beijing Green Exchange, unveiled the carbon neutrality of Shoucheng Times Center.

In the context of "dual carbon", China is vigorously promoting the demonstration and application of green and low-carbon building technologies to help green and high-quality development.

It is understood that Shoucheng Times Center takes green "double carbon" and sustainable development as its core concepts, breaks down the ecological boundary of bankruptcy and finance, and builds a pilot demonstration area in western Beijing. At the beginning of the planning, the Shoucheng Times Center was designed and constructed in accordance with the three-star green building and LEED gold standards to create a green and healthy industrial park. Among them, according to the calculation of the Beijing Green Exchange, the building will generate an annual carbon emission of about 44.27 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent after normal operation, and the distributed photovoltaic projects that have been operated will achieve an annual carbon emission reduction of about 118.43 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent, which can achieve the annual net zero carbon emissions of the Shoucheng Times Center.

In the next step, Shoucheng Times Center will continue to integrate the concept of green and low-carbon operation into all aspects of management, improve the construction of low-carbon operation system, and take this event as an opportunity to continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation with the Beijing Green Exchange. As a comprehensive environmental rights trading and green and low-carbon service platform in China, the Beijing Green Exchange will continue to strengthen its three core competencies of carbon pricing, carbon quantification and carbon finance, actively promote the construction of a national CCER trading center, a public platform for "dual carbon" management and green finance, and provide a comprehensive carbon neutrality service for many institutions.

The event was guided by the Shijingshan District Government, hosted by Shougang Fund and Beijing Green Exchange, undertaken by Shoucheng Times Center and Beijing Energy Conservation and Low-Carbon Environmental Protection Industry Service Association, and attended by experts from low-carbon research institutions, enterprises and associations.
