In your proposal to adopt "simultaneous development of five carbons" to deal with the "three highs and one short" challenges China faces in achieving carbon neutrality (i.e., the high-carbon energy structure, the high-carbon industrial structure, the medium-to-high speed process of industrialization and urbanization, and the transition from carbon peak to carbon neutrality), which aspect do you think is the most difficult to implement? How should these difficulties be overcome during the advancement process to ensure the smooth realization of the "double carbon" goal?

This is a big problem. In view of our national conditions, the "Five Carbon Development" proposal is based on our national conditions, namely resource efficiency and carbon reduction, energy structure reduction, carbon storage in geological space, carbon sequestration in ecosystems, and carbon integration in market mechanisms. Market mechanism integration of carbon means the integration and development of new technologies in the carbon market. I think these five measures are all very important and have their own difficulties.

Under the current national conditions, carbon neutrality is a process that takes decades to advance. Thirty to fifty years, not three to five years. At this stage, the greatest difficulty is the second one that undertakes the most carbon reduction is the energy structure carbon reduction. We need to solve this problem well. There are eight words: multiple capabilities complement each other, and the source network stores the load.

Forming an organic system requires long-term efforts, and we are also doing this work.
