Recently, CHINT was awarded the ISO 14064 Greenhouse Gas Verification Certification and ISO 14067 Product Carbon Footprint Certification issued by BSI, a global authoritative standardization organization.

ISO 14064 and ISO 14067 standards are international standards for greenhouse gas management and carbon footprint accounting, and are an important part of the globally recognized environmental management system. The ISO 14064 standard covers the principles of greenhouse gas accounting and reporting, providing guidance for organizations to establish and operate a greenhouse gas accounting system. The ISO14067 standard, on the other hand, focuses on carbon footprint accounting, helping organizations assess the carbon footprint of their products, services, or projects, providing a scientific basis for achieving carbon neutrality and mitigating climate change.

It is reported that the ISO14064 verification of the overall data of the greenhouse gas emission sources of CHINT Xinneng shows that the carbon emission intensity of CHINT's operations in 2022 is 27.65% lower than that in 2021, and the green results are remarkable. This verification covers six categories: direct greenhouse gas emissions, indirect greenhouse gas emissions from imported energy, indirect greenhouse gas emissions from transportation, indirect greenhouse gas emissions from products used by the organization, indirect greenhouse gas emissions related to the use of the organization's products, and indirect greenhouse gas emissions from other sources. According to the verification results, the indirect greenhouse gas emissions generated by the products used by the organization account for the largest proportion of carbon emissions, and supply chain carbon management has become the main direction of carbon reduction in the future.

ISO14067 verify the quantitative data of the carbon footprint of the whole life cycle of the product from the upstream raw material manufacturing to the end-of-life disposal of the module, covering n-type and p-type products, and calculate the carbon footprint value per kilowatt of PV module produced. According to the data, the module production stage (raw materials, product production, transportation, etc.) accounts for the largest carbon footprint, reaching at least 97%, and raw cells account for the largest proportion of the carbon footprint, accounting for more than 80% of the total carbon footprint.
