Recently, the first smart photovoltaic power station in Northeast China was officially closed for power generation at SK hynix/Intel Dalian base in Jinpu New Area. The plant has been under construction since July 2021, with photovoltaic panels installed in the parking lot area of the plant and on top of the factory and office buildings. According to Liu Ran, director of plant technical support at the base, a total of 11,920 photovoltaic panels have been installed in the plant area, with a total photovoltaic panel laying area of about 27,000 square meters, and the overall photovoltaic power station covers an area of more than 100,000 square meters, with a total installed capacity of more than 5 megawatts, which will produce 6 million kWh of clean electricity every year, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 6,030 tons per year, which is equivalent to saving 2,400 tons of standard coal per year. The smart photovoltaic power station is also one of the largest photovoltaic power plants in Northeast China.

Through the field observation, part of the electricity generated by the photovoltaic power station is provided for the production and lighting of the factory, while the other part of the photovoltaic power is directly provided to the employees for charging new energy vehicles through the charging piles set up in the parking lot of the factory. The first intelligent photovoltaic power station in Northeast China lives up to its name – thanks to advanced intelligent functions, the power station realizes the stable operation of a "one-stop" system of efficient clean energy generation at the front end and direct use at the back end of the plant. Such intelligent clean energy power generation and use facilities are currently the most advanced and complete in Northeast China.

The completion of the PV power plant at the base is another step by SK hynix and Intel Corporation in their commitment to the corporate philosophy of "strictly keeping the production process green and environmentally friendly." With the further expansion of the plant in the future, the base management team will plan to continue to install more solar photovoltaic panels in the factory area, and adopt more advanced clean energy development and use technologies to build a world-class green factory.
