Chinese researchers have developed new biomimetic low-carbon building materials

CCTV News quoted the Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences as saying that researchers from the Key Laboratory of Biomimetic Materials and Interface Science of the Institute were inspired by the nest building process of the Shata worm in nature, and used natural binders to bind various solid particles such as sand and slag, and prepared new biomimetic low-carbon building materials with excellent mechanical properties under low temperature and atmospheric pressure conditions, providing new ideas for reducing carbon emissions in the construction field. The research results were recently published in the international academic journal Matter.
