The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology openly solicits opinions on the "Guidelines for the Construction of Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Standard System in the Industrial Field (2023 Edition)"!

In order to thoroughly implement the decision-making and deployment of the Party Central Committee and the State Council on carbon peak and carbon neutrality, and give full play to the leading and normative role of standards in promoting carbon peak and carbon neutrality in the industrial field, on May 22, 2023, the Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology publicly solicited opinions on the "Guidelines for the Construction of Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Standard System in the Industrial Field (2023 Edition)" (draft for comments), put forward the framework of the standard system for carbon peak and carbon neutrality in the industrial field, and planned the development direction of relevant standards. Pay attention to the effective connection with the existing industrial energy conservation and comprehensive utilization standard system and green manufacturing standard system. It is hoped that by accelerating the formulation of relevant standards and continuously improving the standard system, the industrial sector will be transformed to a low-carbon and zero-carbon development model.

It is proposed that by 2025, the standard system for carbon peak and carbon neutrality in the industrial field will be basically established. In view of the development status and future development trend of low-carbon technologies and the development needs of the industrial industry, more than 200 urgently needed standards for carbon peaking have been formulated. Focus on formulating standards in the fields of basic general, accounting and verification, and low-carbon technology and equipment, and provide technical support for carbon assessment and carbon emission reduction in the industrial field. Accelerate the development of carbon emission management and evaluation standards, promote deep carbon reduction in the industrial sector, and guide the low-carbon and high-quality development of related industries.
