Shaanxi Provincial Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Standardization Technical Committee was established

On May 25, the Shaanxi Provincial Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Standardization Technical Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Double Carbon" Standardization Committee) led by Northwest University was established. This is an important measure for our province to practice the concept of green and low-carbon development, and will make a positive contribution to the realization of the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality in Shaanxi Province.

The "dual carbon" standard is an important constraint to achieve the goal of carbon reduction, and it is also an important technical support for green and low-carbon transformation and upgrading. In order to promote the standardization of "double carbon" in Shaanxi Province, Northwest University submitted an application to the Provincial Administration for Market Regulation in November 2021 to prepare for the establishment of the "double carbon" standard committee, and adopted a combination of open solicitation and active invitation to solicit candidates for selection members from government departments, groups, enterprises and institutions involved in the field of "double carbon", and determined 70 committee members, and invited 3 authoritative experts in the industry field in the province to serve as special consultants.

According to reports, the "double carbon" standard committee will combine the decision-making and deployment of the central government and Shaanxi's "double carbon" standardization work, formulate and improve the planning and roadmap of Shaanxi Province's "double carbon" standardization system, accelerate the construction of a "double carbon" standard system that meets the needs of high-quality economic and social development in Shaanxi Province, lead technological innovation with advanced standards, and drive the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure.
