The ambient air quality in Wuhai and surrounding areas in Inner Mongolia continues to improve
The Department of Ecology and Environment of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region recently announced that Inner Mongolia has further strengthened the joint prevention and control of air pollution in Hobao, Wuhai and surrounding areas, actively and effectively responded to heavily polluted weather, and continuously improved regional ambient air quality, so that the masses of people can enjoy more blue skies and white clouds and breathe more fresh air. In 2023, PM in Wuhai and surrounding areas2.5、PM10The average concentration decreased by 13.3% and 9.0% year-on-year, respectively, and the regional ambient air quality was further improved.
Strengthen regional joint defense, the Department of Ecology and Environment of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region conscientiously implements the "three lines and one order" control measures, promotes the "three lines and one order" to be widely used in policy formulation, environmental access, park management and other fields, strictly implements the total pollutant emission control system for new projects, resolutely curbs the low-level blind development of "two high" projects, and incorporates carbon emission assessment into the key content of park planning and environmental impact assessment review of key industry projects.
Strengthen regional joint control, and crack down on environmental violations such as illegal and excessive emissions through special law enforcement, joint law enforcement, and cross-law enforcement, and continue to fight the battle to defend the blue sky. At the same time, we will further improve the response mechanism for heavily polluted weather, actively improve the emergency emission reduction measures of enterprises, establish "one enterprise and one file" for enterprises included in the emergency emission reduction list, and implement the performance grading management of enterprises in key industries.
Implement regional joint governance, further increase the ultra-low emission transformation of steel, coking and coal-fired boilers in the region, and complete the ultra-low emission transformation of 37 enterprises. The "Key Points of VOCs Treatment in Key Industries" was formulated, and the treatment of volatile organic compounds in 20 key enterprises was completed. We will continue to expand the scope of coal-fired pollution control, accelerate the transformation of clean heating in Hohhot and Baotou, and complete the transformation of 65,400 households, effectively reducing regional air pollutant emissions.
In addition, Inner Mongolia has further improved its working mechanism. A joint forecast, early warning and forecasting mechanism for air quality in Hoh, Baotou and Hubei has been established, and forecast information has been released in a timely manner to effectively respond to regional heavy pollution weather. It has revised and improved the "Working Mechanism for Joint Prevention and Control of Air Pollution in Wuhai and Surrounding Areas" and the "Detailed Rules for the Assessment of the Effectiveness of Comprehensive Ecological and Environmental Management in Wuhai and Surrounding Areas", and formulated the "Implementation Plan for Law Enforcement and Inspection of Ecological Environment in Wuhai and Surrounding Areas" to further strengthen the linkage of departments and cities to form a joint force for regional joint prevention and control. We have strengthened scientific and technological support, organized and carried out research on the causes and comprehensive treatment of air pollution in Wuhai and surrounding areas, and provided technical support for the scientific and accurate promotion of joint prevention and control of regional air pollution.
According to reports, in 2024, the Department of Ecology and Environment of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region will continue to implement in-depth governance of key industries, accelerate the transformation of ultra-low emissions of steel, coking and coal-fired boilers, and comprehensive management of volatile organic compounds in industrial furnaces and key industries. Strengthen the remediation of dust pollution, strictly control dust pollution in mining areas, parks and factories, and continue to implement the fully enclosed transformation of material storage yards to effectively reduce dust pollution. Intensify the control of motor vehicle pollution, vigorously promote the "scattered to centralized", "oil to electricity" and "road to rail", increase the intensity of road inspection of heavy diesel trucks, and strictly investigate and deal with vehicles that do not meet the standards. Strengthen coordination and linkage, strengthen information sharing and communication between departments and league cities, continue to increase the intensity of law enforcement and supervision, further consolidate the work responsibilities of all localities and departments, and make every effort to promote the joint prevention and control of regional air pollution.
