On January 24, the 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) Special Promotion Conference and China-Europe Association New Year Exchange Conference (hereinafter referred to as CIFTIS) was held in Beijing.
In the trend of economic globalization, trade in services is an important force driving the growth of the world economy and trade. Among them, trade in environmental services has become a new focus of international economic and social attention, covering areas from traditional industries to non-traditional industries, and international low-carbon economic and trade rules have become an important topic of global political and economic and social development.

Zhou Ling, Deputy Director of Beijing International Center for Trade in Services, delivered a speech on behalf of the Chinese leaders. She said that in the trend of economic globalization, the service industry and service trade have become an important force to promote the growth of the world economy and trade, and the service industry has contributed 65% of the global GDP and provided more than 50% of the jobs, and the service trade has become the most dynamic and important part of international trade.

Liu Yunxue, General Manager of the CIFTIS Center of the Capital Convention and Exhibition Group, introduced the latest industry trends of digital service trade and green service trade, as well as the preparation progress of the 2024 CIFTIS ICT and environmental service exhibitions. As the only national green exchange in China, Mei Dewen, vice chairman of Beijing Green Exchange, analyzed the current situation and development of the carbon market in the context of carbon neutrality and carbon tariffs. In addition, representatives from local governments and enterprises also shared the development of service trade in their regions and industries.
At the same time, an awarding ceremony was held for the CEIBS branches.
At the conference, 40 institutions and enterprises demonstrated their latest research and service capabilities in green and low-carbon. More than 500 representatives from embassies and consulates, foreign institutions in China, institutions directly under the Ministry of Commerce, business associations, scientific research institutes, and institutions and enterprises in the field of ICT services and environmental services of CIFTIS attended the meeting.
It is reported that the 2024 CIFTIS Environmental Services Special Exhibition will organize the exhibition area in four sections: "green energy", "carbon neutral technology", "circular economy" and "ecological mine", strengthen exchanges and cooperation with advanced countries in technology and management, promote the introduction and integrated innovation of key technologies, and promote the green transformation and upgrading of China's industrial structure and trade structure. At the same time, we will use the "Belt and Road" green development partnership and national foreign aid and investment projects to strengthen cooperation in the field of laws and regulations and environmental technical standards, support China's environmental protection enterprises to become bigger and stronger, and strive for favorable conditions for further "going out".
