The ship is the first ocean-going automobile carrier developed and designed by Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute under China State Shipbuilding Group, and built by Jiangnan Shipbuilding for SAIC Anji Logistics, and named "SAIC Anji Shencheng". The 200-meter-long, 38-meter-wide, 13-storey ocean-going vessel has a displacement of more than 40,000 tons and can carry 7,600 international standard size passenger cars.
In addition, the "SAIC Anji Shencheng" adopts LNG dual-fuel clean power, which can meet the environmental protection and emission requirements of developed countries and regions such as North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, and reduce carbon emissions by about 30%, taking a round trip to Europe as an example, it is estimated that carbon emissions will be reduced by 1,300 tons. According to reports, the ship plans to be "resident" on European routes and Australia-New Zealand routes, with an annual capacity of about 30,000 units.
At present, SAIC Anji Logistics has built China's largest self-operated fleet of automobile enterprises, with 31 automobile ships of various types, and opened 7 international self-operated routes in Southeast Asia, Mexico, West South America, and Europe. In the next three years, a total of 14 ocean-going carriers in the 7000, 7600, 7800 and 9000 vehicle classes will successively join SAIC Anji Logistics' ocean-going fleet, and together with the existing ships, provide a total of more than 500,000 units of annual capacity of the ocean-going section of the self-operating capacity support.
"First of all, we have firm confidence in the growth trend of China's auto exports. Zhao Aimin, Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of SAIC International, said that in addition, the self-built fleet can also ensure the stability of the supply chain of automobiles going to sea on the one hand, and on the other hand, it can also improve the ability of enterprises to control the overall cost in the process of automobiles going to sea.
