What does Nanchang's low-carbon community look like? "Green" elements can be seen everywhere

Source:CenewsComCn
Release Time:1 years ago

Recently, walking into Gaowang Community, Wangcheng Town, Xinjian District, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, you can see that the road surface is clean and tidy, a variety of green plants are planted on both sides of the road, and "green" elements such as solar street lights, intelligent charging stations for electric vehicles, frequency conversion water supplies, and intelligent garbage sorting bins can be seen everywhere. Looking up at the residential buildings, the blue photovoltaic panels are neatly hung outside the balconies of each resident, which is very eye-catching.

"These photovoltaic panels collect solar energy to drive the water heater, which directly uses the direct current generated by the unit to supply hot water, without the need for an external AC power source. Chen Qiang, secretary of the party branch of Gaowang community, said.

Compared with traditional solar water heaters, water heaters with photovoltaic panels are not only more energy-efficient, but also avoid heat loss in transmission. At present, a total of 1,286 households in Gaowang Community have installed photovoltaic panel water heaters, which can save 250 kilowatt-hours of electricity per household per year.

How to apply new technologies to achieve energy conservation and emission reduction in urban life is the main problem that needs to be solved in the process of low-carbon community construction. As one of the low-carbon pilot communities in Jiangxi Province, Gaowang Community has been actively exploring.

During the interview, the reporter learned that in order to reduce the consumption of building energy resources, Gaowang community uses thermal insulation and energy-saving mortar materials on the exterior wall, so that the indoor temperature of residents in winter is increased by 3 °C to 4 °C and reduced by 3 °C to 4 °C in summer, so as to reduce the energy consumption of air conditioning heating system and refrigeration heating in residents' homes due to a large amount of heat consumption.

In addition, Gaowang Community has installed 50 pole-type sprinkler irrigation facilities in green public areas, so that water droplets can be evenly sprayed on the lawn, greatly improving the utilization rate of water, and saving 125 tons of water per month.

"In the work of promoting low-carbon pilot communities, the ecological environment department of the new area has guided us to implement a number of low-carbon projects with the characteristics of the community around the calculation of carbon emission indicators and project feasibility through many field investigations, and after three years of pilot, the community can now reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 80 tons per year. Chen Qiang said.

In addition to infrastructure, building low-carbon communities also needs to raise residents' awareness of environmental protection. "Develop a good habit of turning off the lights at home, each household can save about 4.9 kWh of electricity per year, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 4.7 kg accordingly; saving 1 kWh of electricity can make 25 watt bulbs light up for 40 hours continuously......" Recently, an exchange meeting with the theme of "energy conservation and emission reduction, you and I walk" was held in Yesutang Community, Shengjinta Street, Xihu District, Nanchang City. Green classes like this are held every week in the Jesudo community.

"In order to let residents know more about low-carbon knowledge, we will invite community volunteers to go into green and low-carbon classrooms, publicize and explain low-carbon knowledge to residents, and regularly carry out activities such as 'green family' evaluation, exchange of idle items, and green travel, so as to encourage everyone to actively participate in the construction of low-carbon communities in a way that the masses like to see. Zhan Xiaoqian, Secretary of the Party Committee of Sutang Community, said.

As a frequent visitor to the green class, Li Weisheng, a resident of Sutang community, told reporters that he did not have much concept of low-carbon life before, and in the green class opened by the community, he not only learned how to scientifically classify garbage, but also mastered the tips for energy conservation and carbon reduction.

"Since the launch of the pilot project of low-carbon communities, Nanchang has built a total of 28 provincial-level low-carbon communities. In order to encourage the advanced and strengthen the demonstration, this year, in accordance with the principle of 'overall arrangement and highlighting the key points', we will reward 30,000 yuan to the 12 communities in the city that were rated as low-carbon pilot communities in the province in the previous year. Ma Yixin, a staff member of the atmospheric department of the Nanchang Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau, said when introducing the situation.

In the next step, Nanchang will continue to summarize the pilot experience of low-carbon communities in a timely manner, and continuously improve residents' awareness of low-carbon life and the quality of low-carbon community creation.
